The Golden rule. Something I find to be the most important thing to live by and it something that every person should have been seen or heard about in their life. I grew up with the learing about the Golden rule and it was something so vital in my school work during the first 11 years and it never stopped even after I went to other schools I did hold on to that belive in the golden rule and it has give me a great help encouragement. I went in and it was something that was taught and it has learn me very much and to me it is very important. No matter if you belive in some religion or not, it is mostly has with respect for people.

This is was written by Queen Marie of Romania for the Cosmopolitan in 1925. When she spoke about love. I thought it could be suited to put here for this day.

Happy Saint Valentine’s day or Glad Alla Hjärtans dag. Hope everyone will have a good day. :)
The picture below is of Princess Ileana and her cousin the Tsesarevich Alexei of Russia. Both cousins were fond of each other and Alexei promised Ileana he would come back for her. Something Ileana kept hoping until she was told of the fate of her cousins.
This photo was taken 1914 during the trip the Romanovs did to the visted the Romania Royal family. Ileana was 5 years old and her cousin Alexei was 9 years old at the time. During this trip Crown Princess Marie had put her youngest daughter Ileana and her brother Prince Nicolae in charge to take care of their cousin Tsesarevich Alexei and so that he would he enjoying his stay in Romania. Their mother confided in Ileana to take the charge seriously since Prince Nicolae was more active boy of 10 years old and would not always follow rules if he could do something more fun. Ileana find the charge thing hard since she was not always allowed to follow her cousin and brother around, so she just tried to watch them from a distans and followed them around as much as she could. She did get to play games with her cousin and brother and she had good times with her cousin, but sometimes she was shut out by her brother who just thought his sister to be rather annoying little girl and to young to play with them.

Princess Ileana always liked to have order in her room, even if she liked decorated her room with small tiny decorations to fill her room, she wanted to have everything simple and nice and clean. She never liked to have mess in her room. It was always to be order in her room. But she liked to decorated her bedroom walls with religious icon and even drawings she did and other artworks that the family own. This photo is of her bedroom in Bran during the time Ileana lived in Bran.

To others it might be just metal box with some soil in it. But to Ileana it was something so very tresured. The box contain a handful Romanian soil. She did put it in the metal box in her pock when she left Romania, since the abolishing of the monarchy and replaced with commusim dicatorship. She had another one which she put under her bed since she wanted her children to be born on Romanian soil.

The closest sibling Ileana had was Mircea, they very much attached to each other and they very great friends. Ileana was the only one that could stop Mircea when he felt to be naught. Ileana doted on her baby brother and was like a mother to him. She was struck by grief and sorrow, because of her brothers sudden death in 1916 due to typhoid. Togther they could play endlessly with Ileana’s dolls and other toys. It was a hard blow when he died and she missed her brother her whole life. She would refer later in life to when she wrote of Mircea in her book “I live again” that he was the great love of her heart. His death also scar the Princess for the rest of her life, since when she worked in the hospital as well as when she nursed her children when they where sick. She could hardly be able to see the children when they cried and was sick, since it always brought back the memories of her hearing her baby brother dying while crying and calling for her.

Ileana and Nicolae “Nicky” had a very good relationship. Even if if they became closer after 1916, they had a very good relationship earlier too. Even if Nicky had the habit of teasing his sisters very much and he was not always fond of having his sister following him around. But they had many good times together. She had a big respect for her older brother and she often did love her brother dearly and sometimes he did make her angry, when he teased her. Even if Ileana had the habit of ignoring his teasing when she got older. Together they travelled with their mother to USA in 1926.

Ileana and her sister Maria “Mignon” had a close relationship. Ileana looked up and adored her older sister very much. They were more closer then Ileana was to Elisabetha. Ileana enjoyed every time she could see her sister Mignon and she loved spending time with her sister and together they would play games. Since the age difference was almost 9 years it made them closer in age then Elisabetha that it was 14 years between her and Ileana. She enjoyed everytime she could see her sister when Mignon had married Alexander I “Sandro” of Yugoslavia.

Ileana had a big respect for her olderst sister Elisabetha. But it was never a really close relationship. They were friends in the siblings way, but they had not that close relationship as Ileana had to her sister Mignon. But it can be that Ileana was 14 years younger then Elisabetha and therefore they lived more seperate lifes. Even if when they grow older, they come to a more friendly terms when Elisabetha returned to live in Romania after going into exil in 1924 when Greece abolished their monarchy.

Ileana had a good relationship with her older brother Prince Carol. It mostly being so since it was no siblings rivalty between them due to the 15 years age difference between them. It still was on a good term even after Carol had started with his different affairs with different women. But it had take a damage, since Ileana thought her brother to be disrespectful to everyone around him. Hers and Carol relationship went a estranged when she grew older since Carol wanted his sister away from Romania and therefore arrange a meeting with Ileana future husband in Germany, since Carol was threaten by his sisters population in Romania, but also since Ileana was so close to their Mama, he wanted to get his sister out of the country to reduce their Mama’s circle of close people that she could confind in inside the Romania territory.
